Galaxy - The text based space game in Discord!
What is Galaxy?
Please read here
Galaxy is simply a game where you start off mining, built up your fleet of miners, and eventually start a colony. The goal of the game is to dominate the galaxy, but beware, it may take teamwork to conquer everything.
How does the map system work?
The map is limited to a 3,000 by 3,000 square. Each coordinate is a Sector. These sectors can be colonized up to 6 times, each colony can grow to be big and help you in your conquest. Colonies also automatically make you money!
The sectors get a random amount of colony slots, but once you own all the colonies in the sector, you or your fleet can claim the sector!
Please note: Coordinates are not 0 to 3000, they're -1500 to 1500. That means you can warp to -1337,666 as an example. The map itself is still a 3,000 by 3,000 map though.
How to get started!
First off, you'll need some ships to make you some money.
Start off by doing
$buyship 1 2 - This will buy you 2 miner ships that will spawn at 0,0.
Now that you got some ships, do
$mine all - This will use the all selector to use all your ships (Which will automatically get all the miners), and mine for you. Keep running this command to make money. Please note, it takes 10 seconds for the ships to mine. So don't spam it.
Once you get money, keep buying more miners, or save up for a lander type ship. This ship will create a colony for you.
Buy one using $buyship 2 1
It will give you a Unique ID for the ship. Most likely, you won't be able to create a colony right at the spawn, or around it, so you'll want to warp away.
Warp away using
An example is $warp 1337 123,456
This will warp ship ID 1337 to coordinates X 123 and Z 456
Once you arrive you'll want to create a colony.
This will create the colony, and give you a number. The name of the colony by default is Sector x,y
You can name the colony using
$startcolony [Unique ship id] - creates a colony in the sector where the current lander is located.
$colonies [page number]- Lists all of your colonies.
$fundcolony [colony ID] [amount] - Increases colony growth.
$fundall [Amount] - Funds all your colonies at once. Divides the amount by the number of colonies, and each one gets the same amount.
$namecolony [colony ID] [colony Name]
$sector [coordinates] - Lists information about a specific sector.
$warp [ships] [coordinates] - Moves your ships to the specific location
$claimsector [sector coords] [fleet | self] - Claims a sector for you or the fleet if you own all colonies in the sector
$ships - Lists all ships available for purchase.
$sinfo [ship ID] - Gets information about a ship.
$buyship [ship ID] [quantity] - Buys a ship with the ID.
$list [selector] [page number] - Lists ships using the selector system.
$totalships - Shows each ship variant you own.
$mine [Unique ID] - Mines the current sector the ship is in. You can also do $mine all
$bal | $money - Shows how much money you have.
$me - Shows stats about you.
$ship [unique ID] - Provides information about the specific ship.
$sell [selector] [quantity] - Sells ships by the selector, and the quantitiy. If there is no quantity specified, it will sell all by that selector.
$createfleet [Fleet tag] [fleet name] - Creates a fleet, can not change fleet tag.
$renamefleet [fleet tag] [fleet name] - Changes your fleets name.
$fleet [fleet id]
$fleetinvite [@user] - Invite a player to your fleet.
$acceptinvite [fleet Tag] - Accept the invitation to a fleet by using their tag.
Now that you know a bit about colonies, you probably need to know more.
How do colonies grow?
Every 60 seconds is the colony growth cycle. It has a 20% chance to grow by 1 population, and a 5% chance to grow by 2.
Funding helps in this process, and adds on the the default chances.
If the funding is 50 times or greater than the population, it will grow by a random amount between 25 to 100 population, and use population x 10 funds.
If the funding is 10 times or greater than the population, it will grow by a random amount between 6 to 25 and use population x 2 funds.
If the funding is greater than 50, it will add a between 1 and 5 population
Currently there is no combat, but I am working towards it. It's complicated to implement, like how do the combat mechanics work? What if a player is offline? what should happen? etc.

Selectors are how you actually select your ships.
An example is like
$mine all, the "all" part of it is the selector, all is pretty obvious what it does.
type:[type] - Example: $warp type:destroyer 1,1 - This warps all your destroyer type ships to 1,1.
var:[variant number] - Example: $mine var:1 - This will mine with ONLY the Bulldog ship in this case, since bulldogs are the first ships. This is short for Variant.
[unique id, ] - Example: $warp 1,2,3,4,5 1,1 - This will select only ships with unique IDs of 1 to 5, Note the lack of spaces as well. Also works with a single ship.
division:[division number] - Example: $warp division:1 1,1 - Warp your first division
Divisions are an upcoming feature to allow you to split up your fleet into groups. So, say you want 10 divisions, each with a few destroyers and some fighers, You will be able to do that! This will especially be useful for combat.
Each division will be able to be edited manually as well.
